He only talks to me when he's drunk?

there's this guy who I've been seeing since April. we used to talk every night on the phone, meet up often and text all the time. a few weeks ago we said we'd be exclusive, however a while later I found out he was on Tinder, so I ended things with him.

ever since then, I get random phone calls from him in the middle of the night when he's drunk. I'm no longer mad at him - I'd actually like to pick things up with him, only this time keep it casual. I'm always happy to hear from him and make this clear, and whenever he drunkenly makes plans with me for the following day I agree with them. I never hear a word from him sober though!

I don't know what to make of this - I'm pretty sure he knows I'm interested, yet never takes it further than talking to me when he's after been drinking. so does he actually care or does he just want someone to talk to when he's drunk? what does this mean?

I'm not an expert so I'm not really sure but it sounds to me like he might be scared to talk to you when he's sober because he knows he screwed up. have you ever tried to be the one to talk to him first? Maybe he just needs to know that you aren't mad anymore. or he might just be lonely and he still likes you so that's who he calls. But i don't know him so i really couldn't tell you for sure.

It could be that he just needs the drink to give him the courage to speak to you. It sounds as though he will use the excuse of being drunk to save himself any embarrassment. Try speaking to him when he's not been drinking and see if he remembers and still wants to meet up.

I think he likes you too, but doesn't want to be exclusive yet! Most guys are afraid of that ( I don't know why), so now he calls you when he's drunk because he doesn't think that much about it, but when he is sober he is afraid.

This means he's totally into you. Even after drinking he calls only you! Which means he cares about you, trusts you and when sober sub consciously things about you. A drunk and a dying man never lies. He's crazy about you and cares about you a lot.

Yes I think he wants someone to talk to or delibrately drink before calling.
