Are they even a thing though?😅
Oh I would love to have one.

I would accept one only if I had kids and wanted to earn money without having the children feel neglected by their parents - I don't mind the idea of a woman earning money - I think earning money is easier than caring for a house and a family
Yes but we should have both the abilities to work and manage our house
I said that for both male and female.
please read my comment carefully
The idea of the man staying at home only seems fine to me if the kids are significantly older (I'll say at older than 10-12 years) so that anyone doing the cooking and cleaning is fine, because young kids need their mothers more but once the kids are grown up it doesn't matter as much anymore as long as whoever is staying home is doing the chores right.
In China retired men (and women) stay at home and look after their grandchildren while their own children are going to work. That actually feels like a very good system to me.
@Deformate that is fine
WowwGirl I didn't mean the whole post. I just meant that part of the response from CubsterShura. Im a full time stay at home dad and my 2 sons (3 and 7) adore me as much as I do they in that they can always talk to me, ask for help with homework or building lego or even just drawing or colouring in. The other parents on the school run adopted me as 'one of the mums' and my objection was that I dont believe gender has anything to do with it, I think as long as you show them love and a willingness to be there for them, with them or by them regardless, then anyone can be the stay at home parent. The naps are fun too ;)
@Deformate it's good that it's working for you, I'm sure your 3yo and 7yo love you a lot. But that's not the lifestyle I'd prefer for my kids without maybe a huge exception like if I somehow become a billionaire CEO.
I know a guy that was one, his wife had a very high paying job. He was miserable and depressed but she was also really insane, so that's a factor. I was in love with him but never tried anything, just helped support him through his depression. I lost touch and he got divorced, then remarried to a woman who is nice to him. I'm happy for him. I think it might work in a strong marriage, where the man is appreciated but since men seem to need more praise than women, I'd say it doesn't work at all unless he is constantly praised.
Iâd so love to be a house husband. Just I canât multitask for crap. Beats the hell out of going to work and dealing with those animals every day. Cooking, cleaning, laundry... I actually like doing that stuff. I think itâs easy. What I canât do is have laundry going and remember to add the fabric softener while Iâm on the phone scheduling a dentist exam for the kids, all while a meatloaf is being baked to perfection in the oven and be wiping down countertops. You girls do that so seamlessly.
I wanna say u dont min I, but it's all deoends on the Bill's and the concepts with kids. With no kids, I'd prefer to have similar scehldes so we can meet each other and still have money, I'd we have kids, I'd prefer to have a schedule that allows one of us to be with the kids and trade off, while we both work. Because kids are expensive. But, I don't see it working well if the hills are heavy and only one spouse working whether it be a housewife/husband. If the wife I'd making enough, I dont see why not.
I was raised in a traditional home both parents held full time jobs. Man did yard work, fixed and or maintained household, woman kitchen maintains cleanliness, kids had chores and their own responsibilities or else. It was a respect for all and an obligation to have that family dynamic. It worked.
After women thought they could do it all with their smoldering bra in the street they became lazy and angrier. The meals were not as edible or fulfilling and their dwelling became dirtier. If they even broke down enough to capture a desperate man to pick up they household duties they certainly have not been respected or as held in honor as it once was for either partner.
Feminism: the Devil's plot to destroy the family structure.
My brother is one. Seems to work for them. His wife is domestically challenged as a large number of women seem to be anyway. Only one ex of mine know who to tend to a home - and I do not mean this as in she was my maid. I mean this as she had her own home she tend to and did a damn fine job of it by herself which included cooking her own meals. Something that seems somewhat of a lost art in general. It is damn bizarre knowing that grown assed women (and some men) use the drive through on an effing daily basis for their sustenance. Either because they cannot cook or because they refuse to learn how. Frankly, I half way wish take out food serves has ceased so these people would be forced to figure it out or starve. Itâs God damned ridiculous...
*theoretically* itâs possible, but mostly itâs a bad idea. What women are attracted to isnât just going to magically change. A âhouse husbandâ is not equivalent to what is expected of a housewife. âHouse husband basically just means âworks from homeâ, and sort of includes household duties, but women will always expect you to work no matter what. Youâll never escape the expectations out on you as a man, calling it âhouse husbandâ is just a misleading framing that itâs some manner of âequalityâ. But no itâs not at all the same thing, the expectations are not the same. Better not to do it if you want a woman to be attracted to you.
It all depends on the relationship. I think it could be fine if she finds a job to support and he cleans and shops. Given both could probably work but in between jobs it's not bad to take on house chores so you can enjoy time together later. I've heard so many times, well I work so i have the hardest job, say that to a girl and see gives you evil eyes. Both are equally challenging and have valid jobs. It's better than a guy that sits at home eating potato chips and watching movies all day
I think every man should take part in their equal share of housework, yes. But I think it's best that couples share the burden of chores equally opposed to one doing it all. Of course in the instance that one partner is working full-time and the other isn't or is watching kids, then yeah being either a house wife or house husband isn't a bad thing. You're doing work that needs to be done. Fathers are equally parents to kids as mothers are, and are equally capable of doing domestic duties.
If this dynamic works for another couple it's fine, it's not my business. Now, personally, I prefer my partner and I not to stay at home, and both be bread winners and both take care of the house. Not be maids or wallets for the other but more like mates sharing life. The only exception for me, for one of the two to stay at home, would be the first years of life of a child.
It's not bad per se. If you can respect the guy.
Living alone, I am a houseguy and a worker. Being a soldier means I am really uptight about cleanliness and order. I would probably not be satisfied with anything a girlfriend would do anyways, so it is a moot point for me.
Is it, though?
The guys in those pictures look feminised and miserable. I mean the woman is literally LAUGHING AT HIM. It's not a good image, considering this is what feminists are trying to push as the "new normal".
Neither good nor bad. If they choose to be a house husband then that's fine as long as there's an agreement with their wife
In my eyes they are bad and lacks of masculanity...
The role of a homemaker is strictly for girls, i always respect the housewife but never able to respect a house husband because i can feel that it's wrong and not right and a disgrace for other men!
The female's body and mind are adapted for such a role and a man's body and mind are adapted for outside responsibilities...
Tnx owly birdee đ
Because I am a contractor, there are times when I am unemployed for weeks or months and have to go home (I work far from home). When I am home, I get to be house husband and I like it a great deal. I wish my wife made even more money so I could retire and be a house husband full-time.
It just doesn't make sense in my opinion. Most people want kids at some point and the mother is just better equipped physically and mentally to care for children, meaning staying at home is the ultimate care possible. Dont want to give off my kids to strangers who won't give my kid 100% of their effort. Strangers dont teach your kid good values.
I donât want one, but theyâre not morally bad or anything
@Jones_T sorry. Iâm half awake. Wym?
If the wife is the bread winner and the house needs to be maintained they are a good thing.
I personally don't think that house husbands are a bad thing.
A man can take role of the house husband if he wants.
prolly not so good... i could do it i guess... but i'd have to have plenty of driveway time in the week...
time i spend in the driveway chasing rabbits on my project
I never understood that concept. If your house is so large that it's difficult to clean, then surely you have enough money to just hire a maid?
Terrible to the max. His woman won't respect him at all.
I am good at it. Lol. Even though I, am not married. I do have a bunch of friends who call me their house husband. Because, I am more domestic than they are. Lol
I love my kids but I am not a home dad. I am learning more every day.
Being retired makes it easier since I can stay home I did notice my kids mom is much better at cleaning and takes much less time to put a meal together. I was raised to cook and clean and take care of my own home. That doesn't make me the best at it while chasing kids around. I have gotten better at it for the past few months. Luckily I have the time to focus on the kids now.
If they work hard and both are satisfied with the arrangement.
I don't see anything wrong with it
Bad. Guys just canât do that stuff as well as girls. A guy doing it couldnât hold a candle to a girl.
Statistically the most likely to get handed divorce papers at some point out of all of them.
And yes, that includes men with wives who do the bread winning, and the "house work". Think about that.
There's nothing wrong with it as long as everyone is on the same page.
from what i've seen first hand they are bad. unless they have a trust fund or something then they are worthless.
i wonder if that's how men view housewives?
Love to stay home doing the cooking, the shopping and the cleaning. Taking care of the furbabies while she makes $$$
It wouldn't be what I'd like personally but they aren't definitively good or bad, it's completely down to what works for that individual couple.
Not gonna be.
Have other projects going on and both shall contribute with the houshold chores taking care of children and clean up their own mess. even contribute with income.
I'm nobody's mercy samaritan or mony machine.
It's neither good or bad.
If it works for the couple then cool.
No not of itđ
100% feminine and cringeworthy. Little fairies they are. How am I supposed to conquer the world for my family while washing dishes at home wearing a skirt?
Neither. They're just house husbands. It works well for some and it doesn't for others.
Sure, if its something they enjoy doing and the other member of the relationship has agreed to be the breadwinner, then it should be completely fine.
Same as a housewife, If that is how the family dynamic works, there is nothing wrong with it.
Not saying you should be.. Take my wife as a for instance. She only works about 4 months out of the year.. When she does work we split the work. When she does not work, she handles the house, and i help here and there.
No generally valid statement possible I think. Depends on the role the wife wants to take as well. Coukd be ignoring but also attracting her
I plan on being able to be in that position if needed. I hope that girls would appreciate someone who has taken time to learn to cook and clean and everything.
Cool with me, though I would at least suggest him to build a small business, like food stalls.
I tried for a few months and I found myself wanting extreme perfection. I shut down when my fiancee made road blocks for me achieving that.
It's a thing, good or bad can only be given to each situation.
If the girl earns a shitload ye why not. As long as he doesn't sit on his ass all day
i find man who is good at house chore and massaging very sexy and reliable af👍
Its cool unless he is very lazy and she thinks herself as god.
It depends on the situation. Same thing for house wives.
If they are useful to you in lending a helping hand, of course they are too good !
Id want my own job and life without needing my wifes money.
Doesn't matter, everyone should pull their weight and do their part
Hmm I don't think guys should do that!!! They should be out there trying their best to support the family instead of just being at home
I don't know if good or bad but I would not enjoy such a situation. In fact, I would make me insecure about my own value.
If thatâs what they want to be, fine with me.
They can be once they learn a woman's work is never done
Yes it's good. And every husband should have this feature
Only if the man is severely handicapped should he be a house husband.
A good thing if both partners are happy with it
I would like to be a house husband
Bad. Women don't have enough ambition.
I would rather have two incomes.
They're a legitimate option to those who wish it.
