Is an age gap of 4 years okay in a relationship? 23F and 27M?

People usually don't have an issue with that, unless he's 17 and she's 13. But after adulthood, it's usually not a huge gap, but everyone is different.

At 29, I dated a 36-year-old, and after that, I swore off dating women who were (that much) older. And yes, it was more her issues and immaturity than saying anything against women in their late 30's, but it left me feeling a bit turned off to women in that age group (her friends also had a lot of issues and I saw a lot of bad behavior, and if THAT was typical of that age group, I really didn't want it after dating her). They claim women mature or grow up faster; but at 29, I was the stable, calm one.

Yes that is totally okay. when I was younger I often dated much older women and now that I am older I still date older women and much younger women

Let's ask the equation! 27/2 = 13 (rounding down) 13 + 7 = 20. 20 < 23, therefore, yes! That age gap is acceptable! The equation hath spoken!
