Is it foolish to believe in romance?

We all know the terms hopeless romantic. Is it foolish to really believe in romance in the just believe and stability and you know love the person that loves you.

I was once a hopeless romantic. I see people are already stating different meanings to that label, but in my case it was the overwhelming high of being in love and wanting to be nowhere else in the universe than in the embrace of the one you love.

Then, after several vicious and narcissistic lovers were finished destroying my faithful innocence, I just lost the capacity to feel that level of romance again.

Sadly, many people weaponize love, and if they see a glimmer of hope (or hopeless) in someone, they make it their life's passion to destroy that seedling and convert it into misery.

It worked, I have no (romantic) hope left.

If the person is worth it, everything is fine.

If you are the person whom you love and he loves you back. Then go ahead , be foolish.


If you don't love each other, no amount of romance will help in the long run.

Hopeless romantic is a person who knows the type of romance they want is hopeless - In other words it's one sided.
It is indeed foolish to believe in such a romance, and those people don't believe in it anyway, they just choose to not move on.
While what you're describing is not hopeless romantic, it's just being hopeful to find romance and love and be loved, which isn't foolish.

Romance is not the junk you see on TV and movies and so-called 'erotic' novel garbage. Romance is realistic and what you see in the old days with people. It is not this manipulation and flirting nonsense. It is foolish however to create a fantasy over reality.

There's a difference between hopeful and hopeless romantic, hopeless know it's hopeless, some people stay hopeful for romance one day
