How do you cut your ex out of your life?

He wants to keep me close in hopes of getting back together but he wants me to change by chasing him while he talks to this new girl who he said he finds annoying. He refuses to stop talking to her until I change though. How do I confront him about this because everything I have tried to say, he has shot down and thrown in my face and said "if you're upset for anything, you should be upset with yourself".

Just give him the take it or leave it offer. If you say that you're done, but I don't know maybe remain friends or something, if you really find the 'friendship' worth fighting for (I wouldn't), if he doesn't take that offer, you can block him all the same

To “make him hurt too.” You aren’t going to. There is no reciprocity in break ups. One feels relief and the other feels miserable. Just how it goes.

Why try to hurt him? Just move on with dignity.

Feel your own hurt, yes, and move on. Keeping him in your mind because you want to "hurt" him out of some weird desire for late revenge isn't going to help you. Hurting him, even if you do manage to do it, isn't going to help you. You'll just regret what you did and feed into that part of you that has a negative opinion of yourself.

Pull yourself together and grieve properly. You deserve that much from yourself at least.
