What would you do if your partner stormed away during an argument?

Her logic - if I go away while she's yelling I'm a coward, but when I calmly tell her I intend to work on Christmas and stop bothering me about it, she has to make a scene, yell and then go take her car, at nearly 1AM.
Who cares, I'm not worried. She's always out at night doing God knows what, so let her go.
I'll make sure she'll find I have prepared the couch for myself and that Hell will freeze before I'll get back to our bedroom or even let her touch me.

I’d say don’t let the door hit ya in the ass on your way out , Partners that storm out of the house during an argument is just selfish petty behavior, Walk into another room if you don’t want to argue but leaving is just going to add more fire to the argument because now the partner that didn’t leave is worried about them and doesn’t have a clue what the other is up to , especially when the argument is over something so petty , People that usually walk out the home over a petty argument are up to no good , they are probably going to their secret lovers house or to a bar to mingle with the opposite sex , when I worked as a bouncer at a a bar that would get pretty crowded. I witnessed so many girls and guys that came there after an argument with their partners and doing stupid shit , I can’t tell you how many times a partner would come in looking for their partner to find that partner making out with someone else and fights would break out so My job was to break it up and get them to leave the bar I would just SMH on how pathetic people can be and I would feel bad for the non cheating partner , sometimes I would let the non cheating partner get a few hits in before breaking it up lol

Let her fuss and fume ALONE... Its hard to punch smoke!

The essential element IS... is she angry over an ACTUAL issue
(which CAN later be calmly discussed) OR... is she manipulating the circumstance
as a backhanded way of renegotiating who's preferences STEER your relationship?

This COULD be a technique that once used to be termed 'pussy whipping'---
EG: the 'price' of MY presence & companionship is YOU WILL do everything
to MY satisfaction (like a spoiled child's demands.)

Sometimes storming away is the right thing to do. It doesn't help anyone to say a bunch of stuff you don't mean because you're stressed out. That said, it's usually the woman who gets to dictate when that happens. That said, that said, if you're really being pushed that far you gotta stand up for yourself bro. When I finished enjoying, I might feel worried if she's safe during her tantrum; she'll return anyway later on.

I would think for a sec and evaluate the situation rethink it and make sure I wasn't wrong then I'd walk into the room she is in and try to resolve the argument peacefully, but since she drove away I'd be like "welp, I guess that's that", and probably watch a movie and wait for her, they say it is never good to go to sleep on anger, so I would try to resolve our disagreement before going to bed.

I concur with your response to your girlfriend throwing a strop, but if it your flat (you paying the rent) and she's stormed out of it, put the bedding on the couch and you sleep in the bed, don't let her think she controls your flat or things will only get worse, if its her flat, just quietly gather your gear and go to your own flat, the argument was not about anything substantive it was over control and if she has the power to force you to change your mind over something you have decided to do.

Personally I'd go radio silent for a couple of days and ignore the phone or texts unless from work because I'm sure she'll start texting you the morning after the argument and until she sits down and talks out what the argument was about from her side you don't want to know.
