How would you feel & react if your partner locked the door & blocked your way to keep a conversation or argument going when you were trying to leave?

With so many dos and don't in relationships now a days I feel it's important to talk about these things. It's important to keep an open mind and keep yourself informed on what may be right or wrong when it comes to dating or relationships. One may never know what they Don't know unless these sort of topics are brought up.

SO...

How would you feel and react if your partner locked the door and blocked your way when you were trying to leave for 5 to 10 minutes to keep a conversation or argument going?

Have you ever thought about it before now or perhaps found yourself in the same situation regardless of whether you were the blocker or the blockee?

How would you feel or what would you say or perhaps were you aware or unaware that in certain States it may be illegal to block someone's way?

Out of curiosity I looked up the laws from two different states in regards to blocking a person's way and this is what I found:

I love it... you know how many chicks have finally got in trouble for this? I'm connected to military law so I sort of know the chicks have been getting hammered for this behavior. Turns out blocking the guy in and driving him crazy until he hits her for her own leverage is a favorite tactic of the fairest sex. If this is finally taking place in the civilian world as well... fuck yeah.

And to be clear I think it's fucked up if you do it to a chick as well. I'm just sort of biased after watching for years chicks basically making a situation happen and nobody ever gave the chicks credit for what they did to make that situation happen. She could be hitting him all day, entrapping him, hitting him with objects, and then with one little slap... he ends up in jail for weeks. It was like that for as long as I remember and that bullshit is only now starting to change. My wife informed me of this change only like a couple years ago... it took that long to change. But I had no idea that it made it's way to the civilian world.

I'm here for it. Nobody, male or female, should be forced to listen to berating bullshit until they want to throw hands.

False imprisonment is a serious criminal violation committed against a person that shouldn’t be overlooked even if that person comes around later apologizing it’s important to take steps to protect yourself as well as potentially other future victims.

I don’t care if someone’s male or female abuse shouldn’t ever be tolerated and it is NOT okay unfortunately many abusers learn they can get away with this behavior in previous relationships until they finally do it to someone who won’t tolerate it.

If someone did this to me I would do my best to escape and call 911 it’s not okay in some states this is even a felony. Other states it may be a wobbler as well as some states may have different degrees of false imprisonment

If someone for instance has a argument with their husband or wife and one partner blocks the doorway when the other one is trying to do the mature thing of walking away. This is absolutely unacceptable especially locking someone in a room. Some people do it to keep someone from calling law enforcement but this will only add criminal charges.

I never had a weirdo do that to me because if the person wants to fight that bad and control the situation I defo ain't for it. I would just calm them down by lying and then leave since that would be the last time I dealt with an annoying fuck like that again. I hate having heated arguments to begin with but a person who follows you around to fight or lock you in has some major issues. Those seem like the type of people who would stab you to death when you try to dump them after some years.

Definitely game over for him and I would call the cops. I would teach him how such things work out for idiots who think they can limit basic right of another person. If would piss me off I would go over prosecution and courts to fuck him down completely, 2 years on probation at least here.

This one is easy. It's physically abusive. Very black and white. An argument, no matter how bad, is not the same as physically stopping someone from leaving. IT's the same as punching her in the face.

Forget California and any BS law , you don't simply walk away from a non violent conversation , this was the time to literally have it out and never " turn your back " on such a circumstance , he made his point , complete the conversation , don't simply walk away , the point was extremely clear , its time to have it out..

Physically preventing someone from leaving is a form of control and therefore abusive. Time to end the relationship immediately. No second chances.

If you do this to someone with a traumatic / abusive past, expect things to turn violent. Blocking anyone's path / escape route to have an argument automatically makes you an obstacle to break through by any means necessary. People can become incredibly violent when you corner them, and rightly so.
