Is it okay if a guy talks to a lot of girls?

Okay, so I've started talking a guy not too long ago, andt hings have been going okay. He's four years older than me and has a job and we only ever really talk right before he goes to work and on his lunch break which is at 2 in the morning. My friend, just tryying to be protective I guess, decided to see if he was being serious about me or not. She already had a dummy Facebook account set up so we used that account to try and see if he would flirt with the girl and I'm not so sure about what I found out. He told our 'dummy' that he was talking to a couple other girls but they were nothing serious and he ended the convo by giving his number. Should rightfully feel bad about what I found out or is it just nothing? We aren't dating, but I just thought that if you're taking the time to get to know someone and constantly ask them out then that meant things were moving a little beyond 'just talking'. Help? Advice?

several girls I am friends with talk to me at school, on face book, texts and I mean nothing by it beside being friends. then I have a friend who only talks to his girlefriend and her best friend. I guess I'm just saying I wouldn't expect my girlefriend or crush not to talk to any another guys. I would think things are progressing beyond talking if you always ask them out so if he is doing this to you and not the other girls I woulden't overeact just yet.

I guess technically, he's not obligated to commit to talking to one girl. It's just the same as a girl going on multiple dates because she's wanting to see which one is best for her. I think I'd start deciding whether or not you think he's serious about you. I'd start finding out what he feels about you specifically.
