I have a guy friend whom I caught up with after a few years. He asked me how I felt about him, and he said he’s “interested” in me and wants to go with the flow, feel each other out and see where things go. Hw also said to promise him we’ll still remain friends if it doesn’t work out. Could he be sincere with me or just saying that (He knows Im a virgin)

Only time will tell if he is being sincere or not. The longer you wait to have sex, the more sure it will be that he is sincere, and not just wanting to pop your cherry. Regarding remaining friends. It may be that he will remain friends, but that is a difficult thing to really say, and neither of you knows how each of you will feel in a few months, or how each of you will feel, if you have a relationship, and things go sour.
