If your sweet MIL is bad at cooking, would you lie to her?

My fiance's mother is a shy, non-meddling sweet lady. The other DIL and SIL adore her too. It's like she would be the perfect friend and mother figure... great lady but she seriously sucks at cooking. That's her only lacking trait.

She doesn't always cook though. Many times it's really the husband (who is a lot better) and others doing it. One day, she tried to impress us with alfredo pasta with baked salmon and a salad. It was like a rookie and the onions and tomatoes weren't terribly cut up and it was so simple and bland. I lied and told her it's great.

Would you lie too? Even my fiance says she would be perfect if she were a good cook.

Although TV comedies like to play up the MIL and son in law at odds with each other, in my experience, most men get along great with their MIL. MIL daughter in law is another matter entirely. It can often be highly contentious; including the MIL meddling. If you found as good MIL be thankful and join in with the rest of the crew who are keeping their mouth shut about her cooking.

She's so sweet (very naive sometimes) that her husband and my fiance have to get involved so others don't walk all over her. I had to save her once too from someone trying to scam her, someone claiming she was a lucky winner of $10,000 and the vendor was trying to BS her more. The lowlife would've emptied her savings.

Sometimes I don't understand why some people take advantage of kind people. That too me is like stealing candies from a toddler, cowardly. Meanwhile I feel grateful and reciprocate with kindness too... others don't appreciate it.
