I’m not really attracted to Indians. I don’t really know why. It’s probably because the Indian guys I’ve met judged me for not knowing to speak Hindi or the objectifying comments they made on me or it’s just that I don’t find them attractive. I’ve met a lot of Indian guys and I’m not biased or anything, I’m posting this only after a long mental debate. I don’t know why, but I just don’t find any Indian guy attractive. One of my friends called me a racist, while I call it a preference. My dad told me that I could date anyone I want of any race, religion. Anyone, as long as he approves of them. So, I have a choice, but I’m just… I don’t know. Why don’t I find them attractive? Is this weird?

Having dated several Indian women, I've noticed that that seems to be a pattern with Indian women. Most Indian women I've met do not seem to like Indian men much. Based upon everything I've seen from Indian men… I don't blame the women for feeling that way. All but two of the Indian men I've met has been some combination of domineering, objectifying, controlling, extremely presumptive, entitled and generally rude.

I don't think its racist because you didn't mention anything about personality or stereotypes, just that linguistic issue and objectification.

I’m from the south and yeah, almost all Indian guys I’ve met (both south and north) just want nudes, and if I refuse to send, they’re like: “please, I’m so horny” they just won’t leave me alone. It’s so annoying. I think it’s because of the pattern I’ve observed in all the Indian guys I’ve met, ie, they just want nudes or just start flirting with me when I’m not interested in them or just ask me to be their girlfriend (it’s really annoying)

Ahhh, south. So hindi supremacy must be where all that judging must be coming from. I'm a North Indian and I don't like how problems of the South are treated like they're a part of South India and not India as a whole. This agenda of exclusivity and supremacy along with ignorance must be playing for the linguistic part.

Flirting is a way of showing interest but yeah, many Indian guys aren't able to take a 'no' for an answer. Desperation isn't a matter of North or South alone 😂. It's everywhere.

The pre-assumptions might be playing a part in your mind about Indian guys on how they usually are these days and you have had experiences yourself so can't blame you.

Just hold your grounds on what you want and keep looking at your own pace, the right guy will come along. You still have time, keep other things in place and let it come when it does. Till then, keep exploring and learning other things. Good luck!

Some people look down upon South Indians and some South Indians look down upon North Indians and I think that its totally messed up. India's reputation is mainly ruined only cuz there's no unity among indians and also because of the reputation the citizens give out. Like you said, because of my bad experience with indian guys, im really uncomfortable talking to a guy if he's indian even before getting to know him. But i still have a few more years until i start dating, so my perception of Indian guys may change. Thank you :)

It's us Indians who have to be more understanding of each other to save this country. It's sad to see how this country has set itself on a such a self destructive path because of divisive politics. It's only going to get worse if things continue. The political arrogance and sense of superiority influencing people all under a propaganda isn't gonna go.
But the Indian guys' reputation regarding their sexual behavior isn't a new phenomenon.
It's just that they've been exposed to media a lot and their ways of expressing their desperation makes it really more creepy, beyond my scope of understanding tbh.

Just keep your mind open to whatever you wanna choose, whoever you want to date, know about people yourself. If biases come in, let them. You should have the freedom to date whoever you like: Indian or non-Indian.

yeah, that's true. I'm kinda surprised to see that no one was rude on here when i posted this. I was expecting to receive all the hate, but i noticed that some indian guy dont find indian girls attractive either! but its just that my parents are indians and both my mum's side and dad's side are very close minded. My dad's the only person in my family apart from me, who stands for LGBTQ rights and other things. I told my dad that i did not find Indian guys attractive and that I was scared that when i turn 25 I wouldn't have a choice but to marry a stranger who I do not find attractive, my dad told me that I need not worry about that since I would have a choice to date and marry whomever I love after I turn 21, but that he should approve of the person. He's even okay with me dating a female as long as she's from a good family. Im not into girls, but he told me that.

My mum is really close minded and when i asked her she told me that i should marry the guy she chooses and when i asked her how i could marry a stranger she told me that everyone marries a stranger and that its normal. I got scared and told this to my dad, that's when he told me this. I don't know if he'd allow me to date a white guy tho, im not sure... like he told all these things, but still. When i asked him what if mum is not on my side and if they're gonna disown me when i fall in love with a guy who's not Indian, my dad told me that he would never do that, and that he'd support me if he thinks the guy is good enough for me and treats me right. Im scared that he'll change his decision when i grow up. What if he marries me off to a stranger who im not attracted to?

That's very open minded of your dad but it's reasonable to have doubts. If you're going to marry a white guy or just a non Indian, how do you think you'll meet him?

Your dad has seemed open minded enough as to even say to the extent of dating people of other religions and those from LGBTQ community. I think even if he disagrees when you decide to marry someone of your choice, it'll just require some persuasion from your side and it'll all be good. If you love the guy enough, I think you can and should be able to stand up to your dad with affirmation and politeness. He'll listen. This kind of open communication doesn't usually happen in Indian community between kids and parents. It's a good sign in my opinion. Don't think too much, let the right guy in and give it your best. If there's a chance it might not work, there's still a chance that it MAY work. All it will require is effort from your side and the guy you're looking forward to marry.

I’m moving out in a few years, maybe to USA or UK or Germany. Yeah, my dad’s really open minded but my mom’s really close minded though. He told me that he’d disagree only if the guy seems villainous or a player or if he doesn’t treat me right. Yeah, that’s true. Most of my friends’ parents are really close minded and don’t really discuss stuff with them. Thank you for your advice! It has helped me a lot :D

Not really weird. Some of us have a preference for people who are not like us. It is typically referred to outbreeding. There is a certain amount of outbreeding and inbreeding that needs to occur in order to maintain a healthy society. Just find someone who is looking for someone other than their race and be happy.
