How does it affect my relationship if the guy I like is asexual?

The guy I like and I have confessed to each other but haven't done anything more, I definitely want to date him but he's asexual so I'm not sure of the extent it will affect our relationship if we move further.

Probably quite a bit. There's (usually) nothing mechanically stopping an asexual from having sex, but not having the desire to is going to cut down on it. Would you feel good knowing that every time you had sex, it was done as a favor to you? Even if you can get past that, there's a thornier issue: a big part of the appeal of relationships is in feeling desired. And losing out on the "sexual" subcategory of that means taking a big hit. That hurts more than you might think it does.

Now, it may be that he's not completely asexual- I don't know the guy, but it's not a yes-or-no question. He may only be mostly asexual, or demisexual, or some other permutation I don't know the name of. But even if that's the case, it'd probably mean losing out on some of what a girl typically wants in a boyfriend. I'm not saying it won't work- the two of you may be able to compensate and work something out that satisfies both of you- but bear in mind that if you choose to go in, you'll have to make some adjustments. More than you might be expecting from starting a new relationship together, I mean.
