Yes it is unfortunately a very common thing.

also getting anxious if say no ‘escape’ route if chatting to a guy in the kitchen say, feeling hemmed in.

    Have you had counselling?

Some links that cover it more.

It’s also a case of talking to the other person in the relationship, careful with what you share, however letting them know walking up behind you and putting their arms around you suddenly causes a negative reaction, means they will at least think first.

Building up trust is a huge thing with a new person or just others in general.

if you have not had counselling on this, then it’s the best place to start.

Yes, I believe so. Hopefully you're not speaking from experience. I'm very sorry to hear that, if so. Especially considering the mildly supportive comments I think that I've left on some of your posts about age-gap relationships throughout these last few months. You asked about age gaps, manipulation, and stuff like that. And while I do stand by what I said (as in abuse or manipulation is not an inherently quality of age-gap relationships), I don't want it to come across as insensitivity to any ordeals you may have been secretly going through. So if that may be how it was seen, I do apologize.

Very much so. It took me a long time to feel comfortable being touched in any way after being abused
