At least the desire to USE that ability, yes. I would think that just about everybody can do it if they choose to do it. that said - - - - -

Many people who have been hurt- perhaps multiple times and/or in multiple ways as a child- put up a "wall" around themselves so as to eliminate or minimize and required interactions with others. Some others just do not give a crap about anyone other than themselves.

In part. Although, I think my circumstances (which doesn't motivate me to seek for a partner) have more to do, than something fully intrinsic.

I don't think so, unless you're a psychopath. But I guess most people can choose to be single. In case they don't want to be in a relationship or if they feel that relationships are not for them.

Yeah. My mom brainwashed my brother to hate everyone and so he has no friends. He hates my mom the most. He is 38 and never had a girlfriend or any real friends.

He is programmed to think that everyone is trying to kill him and treat him bad. He does want to get married and have 6 kids. But he is always angry and cursing.

I think his priority should be his mental health, rather than wanting to have a family.
