How cruel is purposely stringing along a girl for years and making false promises?

I've heard of sad stories about young girls who were between ages 18-20's when they met the boyfriend. The guy fills their young minds with promises of commitment and marriage in the near future, makes the girl move in with him and continues with those promises.

By the time the girl wants the relationship to process to marriage as he promised, he makes excuses. The girl is now a woman in her mid-late 20's or even early 30's by then. He drained her all of her youthful years... years she'll never get back.

How cruel is that?

Not cruel at all. Yes the man may have strung her along but the women has a choice. A man knows if he wants to marry you almost instantly when he knows you. The relationship is him planning the perfect time. If you date a man for 1-2 years and then 3 years rolls around and you are still waiting. Well either it’s time to move on. If he didn’t want to be with you Year 3 year 10 won’t make a difference.

The relationship was mutual. He did not put a gun to her head and beg her to stay.

Guys says things all the time because they know that’s what she wants to hear. Actions will prove. If he didn’t marry her he never wanted to plan and simple

Late 20’s and early 30’s is perfectly fine to be single. Why should youth be wasted by trying to be married or in love. It’s a mirage. Have fun in your life without all that mumbo

Well conning and manipulative people exist in all aspects of life. Money, politics, crimes, or relationships. Men also get tricked by women so don't pretend that only women get manipulated by men. The point is she did not CHOOSE the wrong guy because a conman never actually shows his true self. She chose to fall in love with the character he played. And men who string women along don't have to be frat boys or fuck boys. So in real life the facade is not as obvious as the sun in the middle of the summer. Do some women chose to fall for bad boys? yes. Does that mean all failing relationships was a conscious decision to fall for bd boys? well that's an ignorant proposition. Do some men fall for the hot cheating woman or gold diggers? yes. Do they all do it out of willingness to be manipulated? again that's a ridiculous proposition and is far off reality
