I'm going to be candid: it depends on the reason why it didn't work out between us.
If it was due to lack of interest, he was pursuing someone else, or there was no attraction there? Yeah, I would want him to be happy. That's not to say I won't be bitter, and let's be real- I'm going to be upset, but ultimately I'd want his happiness... after I distance myself from him, lol.
Sometimes people aren't meant to be together, or make better friends than lovers.
Now if he rejected me in rude manner, was playing games with me and my emotions, or gave me false hope only for him to say he doesn't want me-
Oh absolutely not. I wished nothing but misery and woe until him... especially if they hurt or deceived me! Why wish someone happiness if they hurt you? No, I'm not that nice of a person.
I’d want them to be happy. If I want them to be miserable then I do not truly care about them.
Thank you for the mho :)
It’s basically like worrying about where something goes after I throw it away in the trash like which landfill it will end up in or whether or not it will fall out of the garbage truck on the way to the landfill. Checking up on exes is like checking to make sure your garbage arrived safely to the landfill or incinerator.
Thanks for the MHO. It just goes to show that you can never go wrong with an analogy involving garbage.
It's happened many times. If you love them... let them go... be happy.
@ChiTown33 i'd want her to stay, of course, but how am i going to MAKE her stay?

Yeah of course I’d want them to be happy even if it was without me, I’d always want people to find their happiness however they can ☺️ Plus it would be pretty selfish to let them be unhappy with me too
This is the, if you love them you'll set them free and if they come back you are meant to be together. If they find someone to happy with that is not me, I am glad for them. It means we were not meant to be.
If you truly cared about them. You would want them to happy either way.
Absolutely, it is called unconditional love... No conditions apply not even if they are with someone else...
While I don't want them to be unhappy. I don't want them to be happy with someone else.
I would wish them the best. Life is too short to waste time on grudges.
I vote A, life is too short to hold on to bitterness.
The only woman I deeply and truly loved is gay, just my luck!, and while we were amazingly close friends, a relationship was always out of the question,,,
I’d always want them happy. Even if it hurt
I always wish happiness for them
