My boyfriend decided to make his friend food instead of walk me through a dark area to my house?

My boyfriend usually takes the bus and walks me home, as I need to pass a dark and scary part with woods on either side to get home. Today, he told me his friend who lives with him was coming back from another city at 10 pm and that he needed to get food ready for him. After a few hours out without either of us really checking the time, we naturally got to the bus stop at 9.30pm and it takes around 30 mins to get to my home. He told me he needs to get back to get his friends food ready for 10pm. I feel kinda upset by this but not sure if I’m overreacting. What do you think?

Smart man, the woods are scary at night. But seriously, he shouldve walked you home but I dont think he's a bad person, he just made a bad judgement call and had no awareness of the situation this time. Talk to him about it and how it made you feel to have him pick cooking his friend food over taking you home at night.
