Is it weird that I call my partners, "daddy"?

Like in bed for example I love to use the title Daddy as a sign of endearment. However I’ve noticed a fair few men think it’s weird or that I have daddy issues (I don’t) Why is that?

Not strange at all , and over here in Asia very common ( nothing to do with Asia ) , its something I'm very used to , my daughter still calls me " Pappar " which was back from a time , when my girlfriend call me " Daddy " and her daughter called me " Pappar " out in the western world ( Australia ) some people looked twice , but it was always a term of endearment , they just didn't understand the meaning.

I think its perfectly fine , and its meant in the nicest way as per your explanation.

So, I honestly don't see "daddy" as weird. Not my husband's cup of tea but if it was, I'd probably do it.

Two scenarios where the guy is daddy-
1) Guy is deemed worthy to be the father of her children, so she calls him daddy during sex to validate this
2) Guy is older or the provider and takes exceptional care of his partner. A guy who provides this well should be smart enough to differentiate his partner's use of "daddy" from that of his actual children or stepchildren.

I would guess according to an experience, why certain guys like it is because he wants the woman to have his kids... he is thinking of starting a family and loves family...

So like... home talk , you call a husband daddy around your kids..."look, daddy is home"
And under those circumstances people can naturally getaccustomed referring to their partner as daddy... it may be a precursor type of teasing as if to say "I want to have your baby" lol

It's just too literal for some people... myself included. It's exactly like your boyfriend calling you, "mommy". People have been doing this for ages; calling their significant others by names assigned to their parents. Too many people in that bed having sex who shouldn't be there, in my opinion.

It used to be weird until it caught on.

Now I use it in an ironic sense to describe celebrity crushes older than me.

I think I understand and it was by accident kind of thing. My woman 👩🏻 is playful by nature so 3/4 length black wool coat, money clip in exterior left pocket, and standing on right side at elevator. Reach around look into eyes…take clip…. put in hot pink purse, and “mine, Daddy.” It stuck for her and in public…always around her girlfriends too.

In the end we do look for the other person to be compatible with all 3 layers we all have - child, adult, parent.
Girls are taught very often these days to refuse to be mothers, only children and maybe adults (and then they complain they make less money, all management being a parental role, fundamentally).
