It depends on what sort of lifestyle you're interested in pursuing. I could be interested in a man that's broke, but, his credit had better be good. Not because I am interested in financially exploiting him, but, so I wouldn't be concerned about any of his money issues having a negative impact upon me.

But let's be realistic. In modern times everybody needs money to survive daily. Doesn't matter if you're a man, woman, a child, a dog, hell even for the transgenders. Life comes with financial expenses unless you live somewhere in the middle of nowhere without any currencies.

In principle you don't really need money to find love. But money makes everything so much better. The difference is as vast as Peasant and King/Queen.

If you are a woman no. A man would rather date a nice girl that's broke than a rich narcissist.
If you are a man you do because as a man it's your job to take care of that woman and yes, that means you pay for the dinners and the movies.
But if you are woman, don't walk into it expecting that. If you feel like you are entitled to it, that will drive him off.

Um no? If the relationship is built from love and not just going on dates/buying gifts then it's definitely possible to be in a relationship without having money

But me & the guy i am dating are barely scraping up money to even see each other. We barely have money for ourselves.

If you have to travel to see each other than that could be a money issue. Living closer it's easy to meet up and do stuff for free

You need stability if you want things to last or else you fight over everything. Money tends to help bring stability.
