Boyfriend sending song to ex, should I be worried?

I went through my boyfriends phone (bad I know) and I saw messages with this girl I’ve never heard of before, they were from 2 years ago and in the messages it was clear they were either dating or seeing eachother as she talked about loving him but the last messages they were just fighting. There was no conversation between them since then and he sent her a quite newly released song this morning, and the song includes lyrics like these “It lies inside the depths of you, It lies inside the depths of me, Please don't say it's too late, I'm done doing it my way, Falling apart”. He is still friends with his most recent ex and I know he doesn’t like having bad blood with people and likes to stay friends, but I find it weird that they haven’t communicated in that long then he sends her that? Should I be worried or do you believe it could just be him innocently sending her a song? Thanks so much

I don't think it is as innocent as you want to believe. Why

1. Your boyfriend had a girlfriend but he "failed" to tell you about her. Of course, it is not mandatory to give a list of all previous girlfriends but openness prevents issues like the one you are faced.2. If this ex was his girlfriend 2 years ago, then the relation should have been severed a long time ago and people usually either a) talk about the ex or b) remove the ex's contacts and do not reconnect with them. Keeping an older relation alive and not informing the current relation about it will result in situation you are currently in and only causes confusion and suspicion.

I'm not sure why he would send her a song like that out of the blue after two years of no communication. That is, if I am understanding the details.

Sending a song to someone after two years of supposed no communication would have me wondering what was going on. Of course, I wouldn't go through my partner's phone either.

Don't assume just yet, but be aware, cause being aware is always good, weither he has good or bad intentions or weither it has anything to do with him or not, awareness is good
