I was middle school, about 14, and he controlled everything about me. He controlled the way I dressed, how I spoke, and even told me when I could and could not laugh. He wouldn't allow me around his guy friends. So when we went over to his friends house he would make me wait outside in 100 degree weather while they hung out in the air-conditioning.

Needless to say. One of his friends noticed I didn't come inside the house and asked me why. I told him I wasn't allowed by my boyfriend and he went and cussed my ex boyfriend out. And then me and him started dating and got in a four year relationship before I broke it off with him for cheating.

High school and middle school was crazy!!!

the only time this happened was dating a mates sister.

We pretty much restricted each other’s freedoms, what we could and could not do, simply because the entire relationship was secret.

This meant visibly both of us were single for a year, even though our friends had tried to set us up with various people.

at one point I avoided going to my mates house, as did not want to meet his sister in case anyone caught on, this resulted in him thinking I was less of a mate lol.

Yes and often it is through manipulation and false choices. Insecure/controlling men trying to make up situations to try to make me prove my love to him by choosing him over a friend or family member.

Many have also pushed my friends out of my life to have better control over me, using much of the same methods. Pick me over them enough times and the friends stop being friends.

I have been controlled by more than one boyfriend that either pushed my friends away or tried to.

Yes I have and always try to see the point and respect what they are saying but there's just some things that I want to do and I would want her to do it with me but if she doesn't want to add me as part of my life it's what I do in any relationship there's give taken compromise and I look at all those but when it's out of control it's just not going to be good because it's just going to get worse

Yes and she also tends to get mad at me for everything. Especially thinking I do sneaky stuff behind her back. The hardest part is when I find out she is and thinks it's okay for her to do the things she gets mad at me for. Just like I find her on-sites like this one flirting and everything with guys so do I say if you can do it then I'ma do it or what should I do? I mean what else more does she need to come clean about?

No. Some have tried but I'm too strong-willed to be controlled. I will compromise on some things, but I will still keep my freedom and I'll choose what gets compromised.

Technically all relationships restrict your freedom. The question is if the freedom you lose is is covered by what you get out of it.
