Long story short: my boyfriend and i work together (we were dating before i got transferred to his location/sector and its only while my department is shut down) and we had a pizza party to celebrate meeting yield. The woman who supplied the pizza is a colleague my boyfriend doesn't get along with. He's mad that i ate a slice. Like he considers it to be unloyal because i "broke bread with the enemy". It was pizza for our entire sector not a lunch date. In my opinion we're way too old for pettiness like this. Am i being insensitive? Was I wrong? I've been trying to see it from his POV but i can't.

I would say that you boyfriend acts childish.

Getting upset at you for eating a pizza, just because it was brought by a person he dislikes is really petty. The pizza itself is not the one he is upset with and neither is the dough it was made with or the pizzaiolo that prepared it.

It is totally irrational of him to behave that way and to me, that simply indicates that he is a child in an adult's body. That is very immature and the sign that he has some kind of behavioral issues that should be addressed.

His behavior is a no-go in any relation and toxic at best.

I'd say this is completely unrational you are not trying to hurt anybody we're just living your life he has no reason to be upset as far as I'm concerned maybe talk to him and explain your side maybe he'll understand

I can't understand his POV at all. Pretty damn petty and childish if you ask me.

She brought the pizza for everyone, not just you. She didn't even pay for it, the company did. Jeez. Is he upset that you work for the same company as her?

Does she even know how much he hates her or even that you are his girlfriend?
What if she started treating you like crap if she found out that the two of you are together? That would be just as sucky as the way your boyfriend is acting.

I can see both of your points, yes its for the whole department, BUT she was the one to get the pizza, if it was her alone Id go more with him if it was company purchased and she was just the delivery person I'm loaning more toward your position.
