Was I right in acting that way?

This is really something awkward but the thing is my dad left when i was like a year old and has been absent since. Last month i moved on to a new town looking for a job and found a job as a waitress at a club. I met a guy there whom i had a chat and all with and later he asked me out. I was completely unaware of who he was. We got to talking and dating and after a few weeks he showed me a pic of his family and i recognised dad from the pics mom showed me though he looked a bit older. I didn't even ask him a thing and just left and haven't contacted him at all. I know he isn't wrong but i was so awkwarded. Did i react in a bad way? What should i do?

woah that's a crazy coincidence, you reacted how anyone with mixed emotions would in your situation, im not saying date the dude but maybe you can find closure somehow, thats of course if you want it, you can always just leave and forget about the whole thing but now im sure your mind will be clogged with this and i wouldn't be surprised if it did crave some closure.

You did not act badly. Quite normal.

As for what to do, if you want him in your life, reach back out. Tell him the truth. If you don't, you can ghost him or tell him you don't want to go out again and end it there.

Yeah, your reaction was normal. I mean many would do the same whether if it's due to he was given birth by your father who left your family and you would not want to hang around him or you didn't like dating your half brother
