I was watching a video on YouTube and the same question was asked but the bail was 1 million so I thought $10,000 was a reasonable amount. What about $1? Is $1 a reasonable amount or is that too much? Anything that someone does to get themselves locked up is what they did

So I've been locked up before and on 10,000 bail you only end up paying a 1,000 to a bail bonds man. Sad thing is all charges were dropped and they sent me a nice letter apologizing for the mixup and I never got that grand back. It was a surreal moment though I almost got into a fight with some creepy fucking guy that was fucking with everyone and I was already pissed that I was in there for some bullshit. Co came in and moved him as he was walking toward me. I already decided I was going to smash him as soon as he got close enough. I realized that people can be in there innocent and get caught up with some asshole saying some weird ass shit and now you have real charges added and not considered innocent anymore. So I paid the 1000 and got the fuck out of there as fast as I could.

that would depend on what they actually did and why...

if they actually commit a crime, if they have become a danger to themselves or to others, then it might be best that they await in jail

I would not have a partner that was prone to doing stupid things, so yes, I would do whatever was needed to free them from tyranny or correct a mistake.

nope. i don't have 10k extra for a friend. if he doesn't have enough money to bail himself out, i'm likely not seeing that money back any time soon... i mean it was his choice to commit a crime. so he can carry the consequences.

but only if it was a really good friend and if i think it's unfair he's in jail. i have a good friend for example who loves doing illegal graffiti. if he went to jail for graffiti stuff one day, i wouldn't give him a cent to bail out. maybe this way he learns.
