How to motivate a girlfriend to lose weight?

During our dating my girlfriend has gained weight. I still find her sexy but still - how could I motivate her to do something to lose that weight?

To be motivated to change, someone must first recognize that what they are doing is not what they value & likely isn't sustainable for the long term. So in your case, you may have to remind her of her values & how she's straying from them. And of course, remind her that you care about her, you're not trying to be mean, yada yada yada.

But of course, if she doesn't value being healthy, then you're in for a roller coaster. Because no matter your intentions, she's likely to perceive it as an attack & will go into victim mode.

But if that won't happen, then I definitely recommend just making your lifestyle reflect what you want her to be like. So even if you're not overweight, start getting foods that are extremely healthy, start working out, etc. I say this because people tend to want reflect those they're around.

Just try to be a good example for her and be respectful and how are you approach it. If it’s going to be a long relationship, how you handle addressing problems together can mean happiness or sadness. Maybe you should ask some questions first, does she even want to lose any weight, cause not, then it's not up to you how she should look.
And also, ask yourself, what the reason for the weight gain is.

Is she more depressed now? Cause then you should worry about her well-being more than you should worry about how attractive you find her... otherwise you sound like a douche who doesn't care about your partner.
