He basically said he's doing you a favor and that you can't afford to complain to him.

Not out of vengeance, but because you're more valuable than that. If you stay in that relationship, he'll hold that over your head so long as you're there.

A healthy relationship allows for mistakes from each other because you're still growing, ya know? He's going to hold it against you in disgust every time you make a mistake. He'll justify cheating on you because you're not enough.

Also, let me point this out - he was already thinking that to feel that way, he just decided to bring it up.

Should you dump him ( and you should), don't take him back. It will eat his ass alive that you dumped him, he probably won't even admit it if it ever got out.

This is the type of guy that wants you back just to dump you to save face.

So listen, you're more valuable than that and you're not crazy. Drop him and thank him (silently) for not wasting anymore of your time.

Your reaction is normal but I would look at the positive, that he valued your mind and personal attributes more than the outer form of another woman, I know woman married to high status men whose husbands said before they were engaged they chose the normal looking woman because she had a better personality or brain.
