Is the ideal love story rare nowadays?

For instance my great-grandparents on my father's side:
Both met as young 18 year-olds, he asked her out one day and she said yes, both were each other's first (it wasn't just the girl being the virgin, he was too), she loved taking care of children and he was a hard worker/great provider.
They got married at age 20, had kids and died at old age... just weeks apart from each other.

An ideal love story alright... he was successful with the first girl he ever asked out and she was successful to get him young and ready for a family. Even though they didn't wait till marriage (they did it before), they still got married.

Are these type of love stories rare nowadays? I feel like their story will never repeat again.

They were each other's first even with kissing too. Prior to her... he never gone out on a date... same thing for her.

Yes it's becoming very rare. The internet, the increasingly negative attitudes towards raising a family, and the changing of gender roles with both partners working away from home, has lead to excessive temptations to cheat. People are more career oriented, they want to travel, sleep around and wait too long to get married. they basically start texting others constantly and having affairs rather than communicating with their spouses.
Many marriages are short-lived these days unfortunately.

Then there are the 30-40 year-old men (former party guys) only wanting to marry a young virgin. As if she's going to be happy that they got nothing in common, isn't within similar age range and he's likely to cheat. People of both genders that sleep around have issues with bonding.

Sure, there's many different dynamics these day that lead to a less than ideal love story.
I was fortunate to meet my ex-wife when we were both 21 and we moved in together quickly. We had many years together before smartphones, social media and other distractions started pulling us apart. Her working in another town and us not seeing each other as much anymore also destroyed our bond.
Our great grandparents had a very traditional experience that isn't impossible to have now, but it is becoming less common.

I would argue that simply couldn’t happen today in Western countries. Too many options, too many distractions, too much bad dating advice. Almost the whole culture has changed for the worst. If you look at polls, people have never been this alone, this unsatisfied, or this demoralized.

With civilization and advancements in life, the narrative have changed, no such can happen as of today, all things have changed with time, people are more liberalized, more open minded to more options.

That would never happen these days. She would get bored with him and break up on a whim, just so she could "explore other people.". (Meaning other dicks.)

and then that guy would become a bitter womanizer... and then creation of lying, lovebombers that fake future with good, innocent girls (aka cads, users and players collecting girlfriend after girlfriend... just dating for sex and pleasure and never marrying them) takes over; more men wanting to copy that bad behaviors
Then those former innocent girls become bitter women, not believe in love ever again and so on... the bad cycle doesn't stop.

Serious relationship and commitment have all basically been destroyed.

Pretty soon, I'm guessing many people are going to lose hope in humanity overall. Nowadays it is a disgusting generation.

I would say they are rare, but I don't always know the reality between married couples.

They were a happy couple. It's like a one of a kind love, so unique, innocent, pure, both excited about forming a family, etc. That type of love seems like a dinosaur right now.
