What do you think of people with dissociative identity disorder?

I have dissociative identity disorder and am curious what others people perception of it is. Would you befriend or date someone with it? Why or why not?

Dissociative identity disorder (DID), previously known as multiple personality disorder, is a chronic condition where a person has two or more distinct identities, or "alters":

Symptoms
People with DID may experience a variety of symptoms, including:

Switching identities: People with DID may "switch" to different identities, which can cause changes in behavior, memory, and thinking.

Amnesia: People with DID may experience gaps in their memory, especially about everyday events, personal information, and past traumatic events.

Hearing voices: People with DID may hear voices that are internal conversations between their identities or that address them directly.

Intrusions: People with DID may experience intrusions of identities, voices, or memories into their everyday activities.

Causes
DID is associated with overwhelming experiences, traumatic events, and/or abuse that occurred in childhood.

Treatment
DID is treated with talk therapy, and there is no known cure. However, a medical professional can help manage the condition to improve symptoms

Knowing that a girl has a disorder ahead of time allows me not to misjudge her or her actions falsely. I would befriend her and knowing about her disorder would probably allow us to remain friends. For instance if I did not know about it I might assume the wrong thing in a given situation that might turn me away and keep a meaningful friendship from even happening.

In what way does dissociative identity disorder manifest in you? Just curious. I can't recall knowing anyone in the past who has this, although I know what it is.
