Is it unreasonable to expect a call from your fiance once a day?

It's not at all unreasonable. I don't know why he wouldn't be thinking about you all the time and want to check in at least before bed.

I always talked to my girlfriends at least once a day in person or on the phone.
When my wife goes out of town, I ask her to call me every night to tell me how her day went. If she gets in late and is exhausted, she at least texts to say that she'll call tomorrow. I'd be lonely and uneasy if we didn't at least touch bases.

I'm protective and want to stay connected, but loosely, not like a smothering boa constrictor.

Yes this can hapeen because guys think differently. May be he is busy in something and he want to avoid 5 min absent minded talk. Untill he talks with u with love and care when he got time everything is ok. U are complicating your relationship by thinking like this. Believe in him if u love each other.

Yes. You cannot expect your fiance to make time for you on a pre-designed schedule. Your need for your fiance's attention comes into conflict with his need to be left alone at times. What if he is busy with work, has a super stressful day, and does not want to talk to people until he completes all of his responsibilities? Sometimes people need space, and if you love your fiance you would sacrifice your need for his attention every now and again so that his need to have space can be respected.

In my opinion, yes. But it can differ if one (or both) of you are talkers.

However, I think that there is a point when you have nothing left to talk about and you can become resentful and tired of the other person.

Yes, if you want closer contact with a guy be physically in his life every day. Otherwise expect call when one is needed and that won't be every day.

We do live apart but see eachother 4-5 times a week and will stay at eachothers unless it somthing important when I'm not with her no I don't feel compelled to call her

For a guy, no, for a girl yes. Guys call or text when they have something to say. They never call or text to chat or just talk.
