How to balance give and receive dynamic in a relationship?

In a relationship, it sometimes goes the way which isn't expected. Either of the partner invests in this relationship either more or either less. But how do we actually maintain that dynamic of balancing the give and receive part? Should we care too much? Should we care too less? What's the middle and how do we gain it? And more importantly is a relationship more healthy when 50/50 from both sides applied?

I can say that my relationship is 50-50. Is it always? No. It can fluctuate back and forth any given week due to circumstances. Who had a bad day (s)? What needs done around the house that week? You get the picture. However, if you look at the overall relationship, it would be 50-50.

That is not hard to achieve. My partner and I have our strengths and weaknesses. We each do and take care of things in our relationship that we are good at. I will give an example. I'm not very handy around the house. I am pretty much limited to a screwdriver. So, he does most of the household repairs and updates (remodeling).

He was rubbish cooking when we first started dating. Although he has gotten a lot better, I'm still the one that cooks the majority of the time. I don't mind at all as I enjoy it. So, these are just two simple examples of how things balance.

There are so many more since a relationship is so dynamic. At the end of the day, it is sharing responsibilities and respecting your partner.
