Once blind trust has been shattered, it never returns. That doesn't mean you can't develop trust and have an even better relationship. You'll just find yourself to be more cautious and keeping your eyes open. That can actually help a relationship, as it allows you to see and address issues before they develop into problems.

Find out what voids existed in the relationship and fill those voids. Ask what your partner learned as a result of the experience. Other than promising to not cheat again, ask what he/she expects to do differently this time around. Ask what he/she plans on doing if ever tempted again.

Find a therapist who specializes in communication and learn effective communication skills together. Never ask for details related to what the other person did during the affair or details about the other person. Those details will hold you back, not move you forward. Focus on creating and nurturing a new and improved relationship for both of you.

With that person? You don't if you're smart. You move on! And then, it's a matter of time. It's a matter of finding someone who knows and understands what you went through. And you always communicating your feelings (while taking into account thier feelings). They cannot read your mind on the matter. Clear communication is essential.
