5 years on and off with a guy he won’t date me. date others, but If he finds out I’m with anyone else he tries to mess it up. what does he want?

We’ve been messing for years & in every relationship he had been in he has lied about dating others then would cheat on them with me. No I’m not proud I’m just giving you back information, we’ve been dealing since I was 17 and I’m 22 now , mind you if I date somebody else he gets mad and does weird stuff to mess with my relationship , he said he cares about me and loves me and all that but won’t date me but always dates others and I feel like I’m always on the back burner. Should I just leave him alone? Cause I just feel like I’m wasting my time

Sounds similar to a relationship I had. Well, we never dated but were sexual on the phone etc. Spent six years trying to convince her to give us a shot. She kept declining. Yet she absolutely hated it if I was with any other women. Didn't even have to be dating. She went apeshit one day because I went to see a female friend and her husband. She had issues from past relationships that she couldn't come to terms with, told me she loved me. Seems she couldn't get over the past, wanted me but was scared of commitment but didn't want anyone else to have me.

Yes that’s spot on and it’s so confusing , I started talking to this one guy and he followed me home and kept asking if I had sex with him over and over and as me and the guys relationship progressed he was so mad and I never understood why cause he never takes me seriously but always jumps into other relationships and while he’s in those messes with me
