Guy I dated few years ago became single last year around summertime. We reconnected, hang out, and had a great time. When I asked him if he would considered a relationship with me, he said no. We went our separate ways.

Fast forward to last December. He came back and told me he's met someone.

He also wants to see me. As he phrased it "I want us to have a special thing". He means sex and hanging out as friends while dating someone else.

The same identical scenario happened two years when he was dating another woman.

Why is that he can't date just on person? Why does he need/ want me when he's involved with someone else?
