Is he really on vacation with family?

My boyfriend went on vacation and says it’s with family, but since he’s been gone he’s only sent photos of scenery and one photo of himself which happened to be a screenshot. He has texted me and has called me but never mentions his family. When he’s gone on vacation with family in the past he would send me pictures of him and his family. But this time it seems odd.

He didn’t even tell me where he is staying and I didn’t ask because I didn’t want to seem nosy.

could it be that he is with another female.

Could this possibly mean "He didn’t even tell me where he is staying and I know him well enough to have my suspicions, but I don't want to confront him because i'm afraid it will be the end of us, so I just convinced myself to not ask with the excuse that I don’t want to seem nosy?"

It could be true, that he did go on vacation. But not with his family. Most likely with his friends to tijuana strip clubs
