After a certain age do people expect you to be in a relationship? My coworkers always keep asking if I have any exes or have a girlfriend?

I lie to them because they shouldn't know at all. But I still feel bad that a I have to lie because the honest truth hurts more. 🥺

A lot women and guys at my job expect that I have a girlfriend especially the older ladies it gets annoying at times.

Oh yeah, and it's just as bad being a woman. People assumed I was married in my late 20s, early 30s because "I'm a woman!" So of course that's expected to be settled down by that age range. So when I tell people I'm single, I get these looks of shock as if I'm lying or something is wrong with me-

Thankfully as I get older, people don't ask me as much- probably because they assume I'm already married or taken so it's implied... yay I guess?

OR maybe it’s just a question people ask. Maybe there’s no expectation. Maybe it’s you being self conscious of your relationship history and feel the need to lie. Don’t lie, be yourself. If you would have answered the question differently, would it have mattered?

Well, I lie because my coworkers are super nosy and always wwant to start up something with someone. I haven't met anyone in months let alone talk to someone. At work I did try but no one really bothers to text back. 😕 I have like 3 girls on my snapchat but it hasn't beem open and I still talk to them daily during work
