For the record: I'm not attracted to men, I don't hate them or anything extreme like that, I'm just not attracted to them.

I've always wanted to have children and I still imagine having a partner when I do. From breakfast at the table to taking them to sport pratice or martial arts or anything, Its just something I've really wanted. However, it seems to me that a lot, if not most queer women, are childfree. They dont want children.

I dont want to be childless at 30 but it feels like I'm going to be fighting a losing battle. I don't want to raise a child like that, I dont mind co parenting with a guy or ensuring that the kid has a father figure but I just dont want to do it alone.

I raised my son by myself from when he was about 8 years old until he was 14. It was challenging because it's very difficult to work and raise a child properly. It takes a lot of sacrifice and it usually means either just working part-time and living on an extremely tight budget, or working full-time and basically leaving your child to be raised by babysitters. I chose to be poor and be there for my son.

It was definitely easier to raise him as a family unit when my ex and I were still together until she jumped ship and turned into a slut.

Children raised without a father are at a huge disadvantage in a lot of very significant ways. The statistics are staggering. Fatherless children are more likely to abuse drugs, to become pregnant teens, to end up in jail, to end up living in poverty as adults, and more likely to suffer mental illness... There are so many more, and the differences are stark.

In many cases it is unavoidable... often the father dies or abandons his children... but bringing a child into the world and raising him/her without a father BY CHOICE is one of the most selfish choices imaginable. Women who make that choice are every bit as horrible and selfish as fathers who abandon their children.
