Why do people bash single mothers but give deadbeat fathers a pass?

I especially see men do this the most. Even in cases where there are single fathers or even men who are stepfathers, they're viewed as good men. However, the moment a single mother is brought up, she every name in the book and is almost always immediately blamed for the actions of the man. Why is that? What makes it different?

Irrelevant people (who are well aware of how much pain and effort they would have to put into not ending up completely worthless) strive to obtain the quick relevance of being a gatekeeper - that is they want to be the person everyone has to heap praise and validation on if they want access to food, water, air, education, sex, shelter, and so on. They don't have any intention of earning such a position over people (as indeed it can't be earned, as what would that even mean) they want only to have it and then hold on to it when they have it, using those who buy in to the game of lavishing praise upon them to provide the appearance of defenders - no no one can put any weight behind the observation that the gatekeeper role is parasitic.

Anyway, women are largely regarded as just another resource to such people. It infuriates them when their livestock wanders out on its own to offer itself up as food to the hungry. Because they could have used that hunger to force some praise and validation before giving any of it away. That's all this is. And they can't blame the men for this because they still want their validation. Phrases like "they just want to control women" are accurate but somehow seem to fall flat in missing what is meant by that and why. The reason they want to control women is because they are insecure about lacking any kind of marketable skills. Which ties it back to the decades long right wing effort to defund public education - making it harder for people to learn how to be competent at something useful. I don't know if that was intentional or just a neat side effect to their attempts to insert themselves into the education process to wring out a profit, but it is still the case all the same.

I don't personally know any single fathers who left because they wanted to. I only know single fathers who left because the mom was terrible and unfortunately the court almost never goes against the mom. Sorry kid but if your mom is a druggie and screwing every man in town, and throws shit at your dad hits him all the time, tough luck, you won't have a dad around. Common sense. To some degree this is how every couple the man isn't involved that I personally know is like this.
