So, I voted yes. I think that if an individual, regardless of gender is not getting the affection or nurturing that they're seeking or expect from her partner, it should be taken up with the partner. This is a fine place to ask questions, but in the end what matters is Connecting with your partner and talking about expectations. I have a feeling this happens in many relationships, and is easily addressed on a personal level with your significant other. There may be other parts of their life that are affecting the way they behave at home

How regular? I don’t think so because physical affection is a big part of a relationship, but I don’t think you should be ACTING entitled or making the other person feel guilty or pressured.


I think the best thing to do in that situation is to have a proper conversation with your partner about physical affection, how you both feel about it, how often each person would like it, how you feel when you don’t receive it, etc. to work something out.

I voted yes but then read some responses and I agree with them "entitled" is maybe not the best word but I would say, if there is not affection, is this really somebody you should be with? I mean over time and on a consistent basis if you are constantly feeling a lack of affection maybe you would be happier with other people?

A spouse is entitled to affectionate if it is agreed upon before the marriage.
