7.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Compatibility is what matters. And you can be compatible or not at any age for any number of reasons.
I've known a number of people who were of different ages and nationalities who were completely compatible because of a shared profession or intellectual interest (music in particular) despite their gaps in age.
All this talk of having to "take care of a partner in old age" presupposes a lot, including that you'll be together for 30-50 years. And it's not as if someone never takes care of a disabled or infirm family member.

It’s not dependent on age- unless one of the two people, or both, are not independent themselves- 👀 then they may have needs that they’d expect someone more mature than they, or someone of age and assets (both mentally/and financially), to fulfill their needs.
I say, age doesn’t matter when both are independent, *relate* to each other well, and *enjoy* each other always.
If age interferes with sexual reproduction and/or pleasure
then the couple/pair would have to consider if they’d stay in a relationship together, and compromise/improvise
or
cut things off from there.

Also, do you really want to be taking care of the guy when he's older, and be all alone when he dies before you (men even at the best of times tend to live shorter lives than women do).

+1 yYes and no. When it comes to producing children it's very important the woman is young enough to do so and it's ideal if the man's not older than about 50 or else he may be too old to build an adult relationship with the kids.
When it comes to relationship dynamic I think it's important the man is always older. Just help keeps a more normal functional dynamic.
Lower Age for women gives increases fertility and innocence (on average or so we hope).
Higher age for men gives more wisdom confidence and finance.
Other than those considerations I don't think it matters much.

u +1 yOf course age can matter. What if the guy is 23 and the girl is 14? Or what of the guy is 21 and the girl is 54?

GROSS!

So you agree that age DOES matter? :) :) :)
- +1 y
And seriously consider what@Bethany22 said. Those are valid concerns!
- +1 y
So 21 year old and a 30 year old are huge no no?
- +1 y
No, I didn't say that, because that is not the question you asked.
WHy do you feel ready to settle down with somone? - +1 y
Because he is very loving and caring.
- +1 y
That explains why you think he would be a good long term partner but it doesn't explain why you think you are ready for a long term commitment.
- +1 y
What if the woman is 30 and the guy 21 will that work?
- +1 y
I was only wondering.
984 opinions shared on Relationships topic. If being close in age mattered for people's relationships to work out/last then almost everyone would still be with the first person they were with in high school even 30 years later. MOST relationships close in age FAIL.
What actually matters is compatible morals, compatible long term life goals, each partner having a past that is acceptable to each other, and having a few things in common that they enjoy doing together besides just sexual activities.

+1 yMost civilized countries have consent ages for a reason. It is easy for an older more experienced partner to take advantage of one who has less life experience than they do for sex or even emotional attachment and attention. Boys and girls under the age of majority typically are not mentally or financially equipped to take on such a significant responsibility should pregnancy result.

+1 yAge does probably not really matter at the potential start of a sincere relationship, because people falling in love live in the present moment. Problems may appear later in life when the difference in age is important and starts to reveal for instance health issues.
00 Replyin my opinion, yes, yes it does.
With a big enough age gap that means you got two people who are in different stages in life and with that can come with more conflict and problems than a relationship compared where you got two people who aren't in the same stage life.
When I say this I'm really thinking 10 year age gaps.00 ReplyI can't answer that because everyone is looking for someone unique but what i do know is thst you have a different mind set when you get older, you're more cautious, wiser., you're not focus on the same things as when you are younger and that might appeal to some others might want someone young dumb and full of cum
00 ReplyDepends what you mean by "age" here. If they're both mature, consenting adults and really love each other, have great chemistry and understand one another, then I'd say they're a perfect match.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yYeah, an 18 year old is significantly different from a 50 year old most of the time, which can probably cause noticeable problems in communication and understanding. I also (personally) find it very difficult to be interested in people who are more than 3 years outside of my age range.
00 ReplyYeah it did when u and ur lover have 20 age different u guys can't talk the same thing like u guys want it's bc u guys have different gen

+1 yAs long as the age of consent is there not really. Not to me it doesn’t.
10 Reply Honestly, yes. But compatibility is more important. A lively 40 year old might be a great match for a 29 year old and a poor match for a 38 year old.

+1 yYes up to fifteen years of course both has to be adults
Unless money is involved then the question becomes ‘really age doesn’t matter when it comes to a relationship.’ Both adults of course00 Reply
+1 yIt shouldn't since age is really only just a number, however, when we're talking about minors and adults, you have to be careful. I wouldn't let my 15 year old girl date an 18 year old guy (if I had children, I'm just saying if I did)
00 ReplyTo me, not really. If she's 20 years older and we click I am open to it. The problem is that others who do not approve tend to meddle and cause divisions.
00 Reply1.8K opinions shared on Relationships topic. There are many factors that determine if it matters or not
10 ReplyAs long as both parties are of legal age obviously as you stated in your question , if there's some chemistry between the nan and woman and as long as the relationship works I don't see a problem with age gaps

Fuentes keeps flirting with 20 year olds and he is 30 .
- +1 y
LOL... yeah but besides the point other reasons as sexual drive won't be a match or sustained as the years go by, their energy level won't match, physical attractiveness will be gone as one aged much faster than other.
- +1 y
I am noticing that most guys my age want younger woman. I am hitting 30 feel old lol
- +1 y
You're not old. Don't feel like it neither lest you actually become old quick.
