Would you stay with your partner if they wanted to move out?

My girlfriend is the bread winner, she’s sat me down and says she loves me and wants to stay together but wants to move into her own studio apartment and save a lot of money for a year. I would just move back to my moms house 20 mins away and she wanted me to work on my finances. All of our arguments have been how she pays for everything and she wants her space to work at home alone. She pays all the bills and I help out when I can. Is it fair to stay in the relationship with her? Is this taking a step back?

I'd say you two aren't working out in the "together" setting. I sympathize with her because I've been in situations where my partner wants to do or buy a bunch of shit that we just don't need. Little things like cleanliness can become an issue. I'm fairly clean and wash whatever I use... being stuck to someone that would rather buy new clothes than wash what they have can drive me crazy in a bad way. For me, I like having my own space and it not getting all fucked up from someone else... it just stays clean.

Not sure what you two have issues with but maybe I helped in some way. Best of luck to both of you.

This is her choice. If you’re miserable together. Maybe do you both a favor and leave the relationship. But she can do what she wants.

The question should be " why would she stay with you "? You need to get a good job or 2 jobs. Finances should be at minimum 50/50.
