Ok, I’m a sap for this. If I ever get into a relationship, I would love to adopt a dog together with my future partner. I could see us getting a Golden Retriever.
DON'T FUCKING DO IT! I adopted a cat from a shelter and it's fucking insane what I ended up having to go through. It is not the same as getting a kitten and raising him/her yourself. They are fully formed by someone else's hands and have habits you would've never done to the animal. The cat I got had it's claws removed, was sketchy, and would knaw it's own limbs until it would bleed. It would bite... like not the play bites, it would try to make people bleed. Like what the fuck. I've owned plenty of cats and none of them was anything like that. If you get an animal, get it while it's young and let it grow up with you and how you are.

Norwegian Elkhound, American Eskimo, Siberian Husky, Alaskan Husky, Malamute, Akita, German Shepherd or German Pinscher would be my short list. There's some others that are fine too, but definitely no little ugly rat dogs like pugs or Chihuahuas, or poodles/poodle derivatives.
I could be talked into a Malinois if this hypothetical girlfriend/fiance/wife is very good with dogs.
No. No dogs. Why? Because I'm going to make sure the dog gets more care than my partner and if that thing goes running into the street after I let it out to go to the bathroom FOR A SECOND... I'm gonna get flashbacks to my last dog and get ready to run after said dog if I see one car. (he didn't get ran over) And if i couldn't stop him... and... he went back to god...
I'm gonna be a ugly crying mess for like 3 weeks.

No adopting or moving in until married. Eventually to SPCA after break-up because dog reminds each other of the other one. Bad idea...
If it’s a bigger dog yes. But smaller dogs, not really. I say that based on my experience as well as other men’s experiences. Women get these small lap dogs then next thing you know the damn dog is sleeping in your bed w you, between you. Sex slows down. Hard to take a vacation because you have to find someone to watch the dog.
I had to take 2 dogs from present girlfriend. At 1 point she moved in an apt that didn't allow pets of any kind. Not even fish. So I had both for a couple of years but the oldest one, had to be put down. I think it killed me more than her but her middle child was hurting as much as I was. So I still have the other. Best thing ever in my life. Besides girlfriend and her kids and grandkids.
Big No. Had animals all my life, 22 years old, never taken care of them. It was more suffering than happyness of having animal. So, my self, i won't get animal. Less maintenance, less dust, no hairs, no nothing. I mean, have no time to take care of a dog, Cat or whatever. I would grow a water animals, something that į could eat. Like Shrimp, crayfish...
Yeah! I'm not real picky, as long as it's a long hair (I'm allergic to short hairs and wire hairs) and isn't much more than knee high. None of those carpet scraping models, though!!
A second Boston Terrier - working on it right now, as a matter of fact. French Bullie is also a possibility.
I’m fine whichever breed. I just don’t trust a pit bull
As long as it's not some crazy ass rescue dog
Actually I keep stray dogs and cats in my house. Neighborhood complains that they are wild but they are actually friendly they just want to find an empty unsecure house and Rob us I think 🤔
Any Labrador or Golden Retriever hands down.
I already have a dog and that's ok, I wouldn't think of adopting another one.
I prefer cats to dogs
I have too many dogs
Doberman or italian greyhound
I've always adopted dogs.
Id go for a Border Collie.
