Is it true that you can be tainted by association with bad/stupid men?

My friend Nina and I know two very stupid men, Jack and Alan. One cruelly rejected a young woman by publicly humiliating her and ranted about his family wealth. The other one hit on the same young woman when he’s twice her age. She’s part of the group we’re trying to join. Can these fools spoil it for us?

Be busy when he is involved. Go the other way when you see him. Be very friendly when around him though...
