In the past, I have let people get away with it, but not anymore. Not so long ago, I was talking and kidding around with two work colleagues, when out of the blue, one of them made a racist remark about entire group of people (they are all... ) and then she proceeded to list her "proof".
My other colleague looked at me funny, turned to her and rather politely said, "I don't think that is true." She began to refute him. I was stunned, and immediately jumped in with "That is NOT true." We both ganged up on her and she shut up. Unbeknownst to her, I am part of the group. I wonder what her response would have been had she realized it.
