Do men ever avoid relationships out of fear rather than lack of interest?

One of my best male friends said one has done that with me and that men can be that fearful that they pass up romantic opportunities that they wanted. Then end up regretting it.

Absolutely. In Western society men are taught that they pursue and woman play hard to get. Because of this the possibility of rejection is much greater for men. Every time a man approaches a woman he faces that possibility.


If it happens enough, especially with little to no positivity when asking women out, it can get to be very emotionally difficult for a man to keep “playing the game.” What makes matters worse is Western society also tends to tell men that their masculinity is in question if they are rejected.

This really is the Age of Outrage, where if anyone God Forbid has an opinion different to the aggressor (in this case, you); they’re WRONG and therefore, Must be Abused! I came here to ask a question not have an argument with someone who clearly has issues, either with his sexuality, or with women in general. I wash my hands of you.
