Have you ever texted/messaged someone while you were in the shower?

This question was inspired by a conversation with a very good friend who told me that she had received texts from guys who said they were in the shower and that she, in fact, had texted one time while in the shower.

I've never had the "privilege" to text from the shower (I'd probably drop my phone) but I did have a boss who demanded that we take calls whenever, including during showering. That was a non-starter.

So, what about you? Do you text and shower?

I have never texted anyone. So I have not done it in the shower. If people can't put their phone down long enough to take a shower, they have an addiction problem. Same goes for driving and a lot of other situations.

I'll point out that people have been killed before from using phones or other electronic devices in the bath/shower. Granted, the cases I know of had it attached to a charger, but the point remains that using anything electronic while wet is not a good idea.

Yes. All the time. If you have a protective covering over the charge port and in general keep the phone out of the water, the phone will work just fine. Though it is a bad practice and I am kind of shocked anyone should really expect you to receive calls while showering.

Whoever or whatever it is can wait until I finish. I never bring my phone in the bathroom. I will be that person that somehow drops it in the sink, toilet, bathtub, shower... anyplace with water. Heck I don't even trust myself by the kitchen sink with a phone.

Ever drop it in the toilet in error? I've read about guys pulling up their pants and it falls out of their pocket into the drink. Of course most times they had already flushed.

In oct I found out some scary health stuff and family had me taking my phone into the shower for a while there (ziplock bag and all) But thankfully never needed to, no.

If receiving something at the time I never would have looked. Some moments need disconnection.

Nope I have never done that. However I once played music with my phone when I was in shower and my parents weren't home. Now that I don't have my phone but a tablet it will be extremely difficult to text. Anyways it's dangerous to bring electronic gadgets inside washroom. I would never do that again. The fear to water splashing over phone was way more than the enjoyment of music.

I did back when I had My NG, and also when I got my PEG. showers were rare in the hospital though so usually it was just a warmed shower cap and body wipes. But I would constantly get messaged and I don’t feel like leaving my phone unattended in the room so I just brought it with me and sometimes text.

You don't need to talk to ANYONE that badly. The only reason you MIGHT was if you were doing something like "guiding someone through surgery over the phone", and in THAT case, you'd hold off on the shower.

... I even dropped my phone off a ski lift. Lost it forever. Even frozen water (snow) is dangerous 😑

I don't take any communications that isn't through the door when I am in the bathroom. I rarely bring the phone in, it's laying on a desk or table when I am home. When I am a guest it stays in the pocket.

There are phones that are waterproof but there is no real 'need' for them it's for sure more in the want category and niche want if anything. Therefore there is no real motivation to standardize or improve it which then answers why we haven't got to that point.

Damn it. I had a Samsung 8 and it failed because I had it in my pocket and it was a hot sweaty summer day. They wouldn't fix it because warranty conditions don't cover sweaty guys. Maybe Apple is OK in the shower but I wouldn't trust Samgsung

I do not any more. The boss that wanted calls anywhere, anytime had a bit of a self-importance complex. Like, even when he was on vacation and his clients were on vacation, he wanted all things now. We had to teach him some boundaries.
