I understand there are unhealthy reasons. Perhaps you may be drawn to a certain ethnicity due to a fetish, but I don't understand why some people have an issue, when two individuals are simply attracted to each other, and like each other's company.

This is a racist behavior even if they tell you they're not. They could never be in an interracial relationship or they don't like the idea of dating/mixing with other ethnicities and think that others should think like them too.
