What would you do if you were engaged to one person but then came along someone you felt more attracted to?

You are always going to come across more attractive people no matter what kind of relationship you are in.

You are only seeing the surface qualities of this other person Make no mistake he’s got flaws and skeletons in his closet too. However the surface fantasy is hypnotizing you.

Now if you knew this other guy for many years and knew him intimately and found him to be more attractive then I can understand your pickle. But what’s even more important is how does this other guy really feel about you?

If he knows you are engaged and (hopefully) a half decent guy he isn’t going to try pursuing anything. He will just be respectful and friendly and (should be) controlling how he looks at you and the thoughts that run through his head.

That kind of respectful/friendly behavior with a innocent hint of interest probably makes him even more attractive. However if he all of the sudden realize he could have you then now what?

Also is going to fully trust you knowing you accepted an engagement then broke it off when a handsome stranger came along? It’s extremely flattering but also a sign of your own mental instability. Chances are you will and him with have a quick fling and then he will leave you. Then now what? You be alone with nobody to blame but yourself.

The people who are saying "move on" clearly have never been in serious relationships.

The fact is there will always be better.

If every time you meet a better option you go for it, that will lead you down a path to loneliness because you'll never be satisfied with one person.
Furthermore, when you reach an age where you're no longer as desirable as you used to be (and yes that is a real thing) you'll start getting rejected from the guys who used to say yes to you.

Meaning will lose out on a potentially great guy in search for a greater one.

There's a saying that goes "better is the enemy of good".

So do what you want but make sure that if you left your partner you're not doing it because he's great but some other guy is slightly better.

But if you mean you know this new man and like him and his personality better, you obviously don’t love the one you’re engaged to enough. In which case, I’d break it off.
If I was engaged to be married eventually, I would be pretty sure he’s the one I want forever. A good looking man I see or know is not going to sway me. I know what I don’t want to lose.

If you are questioning things then don’t be in a relationship. If it’s only attraction and nothing else then I’d say no not worth it. Maybe friends would be okay if your partner was good with it but I’d still say no.

There will always be someone more attractive than you and more attractive than your partner. But it's not the attraction that keeps you with you together, it's love.
Hell, you can even love someone you're not attracted to at all and never want to leave them for anyone else.
That's an extreme example of course, but I think most people already know all this so I'm gonna stop now

Right... I honestly don't know if I'd give it more than a passing thought. Like... there was enough there with fiance to get to the point of being engaged. Seems a bit of roulette to throw all that away.

That said, I've gone on record on GaG before saying that I believe that people can love more than one person in life and even love more than one person simultaneously -- and I still believe both of those things -- but I just don't see ending an engagement for that. There'd have to be something there, and "somethings" other than lust take a LONG time and hard work to build.
