Why would a parent support their son or daughter having a boyfriend or girlfriend?

Supporting boy/girl relationship is paramount to any parent given they want grandkids and continuance of lineage.
Many people, including Christians and India, believed boy and girl are to be equally yoked. India parents, with more wisdom than youth, select this relationship. I have no problem with this.
Christians use the Bible as a form of guidance as related to Relationship.

As long as that boyfriend or girlfriend isn’t toxic or abusive, I’d be fine with it.


Relationship experience, if reflected on, can teach them many life lessons and help them with future relationships.


How do you get better at your career? Work experience.


How do you get better with relationships? Relationship experience.


And like with work experience, they don’t get better because of how many jobs they’ve had. (Like, 5 jobs in 1 year isn’t good because it means they can’t hold a job.) They get better from LEARNING from each job opportunity they get.


And, one can learn a lot from holding a long term relationship and learning all about how to nurture a relationship, how to handle conflicts. Or, how relationships can fall apart and how NOT to handle conflicts, etc.


It can be a valuable learning experience. And as long as their partner isn’t toxic or abusive, I’d support it.
