I planned a trip to Florida with my kids weeks ago. My boyfriend wanted to tag along, which I was fine with but I told him he would have to find someone to take his dog for the two weeks. I specifically told him that I would not make an exception on this. For one, she's in heat. For two, she whines nonstop and I'm not sitting through a 28 hr car ride with a dog that doesn't stop whining. For three I wasn't paying an extra air bnb charge for the dog and lastly, I had made plans with the kids and the dog was not tagging along (Disney). I'm not leaving the dog at the air BNB all day long and allowing her to destroy the place (she still has accidents inside despite being 3 years old). So anyways, I told him she absolutely was not going and he would need to find somewhere for her to go and he agreed to this. I reminded him SEVERAL times to find somewhere for her to go and he always said he would handle it.
Fast forward to yesterday, I texted him to make sure he had made arrangements and he texted back and said he couldn't find anyone to take her and that she "would have to tag along". I told him she wasn't going with us under any circumstances and he started suggesting alternatives. Such as we skip out on Disney with the kids and we go hiking instead so we could bring the dog. I again said absolutely not. He just immediately started getting pissed off and said she "had to go" because there was no other option. So I texted back and said "yes there is other options. Such as you not going. You knew well in advance and failed to find anyone to take her so I guess we will see you when we get back." I then packed up the kids and headed out. Apparently he showed up at my house after we left, with his dog because he thought I'd cave, saw I wasn't there and lost it. He says I'm a "fucking dick" because he had been looking forward to the "bonding time" he'd have with the kids. I paid for the whole trip and this was my ONE stipulation. Was I wrong?
