Yea, I think you have a right to be worried. Not that he's necessarily straight-up cheating on you by getting sexual with this other girl. You are likely right about him not being so blatant as to openly cheat-on-you by not even trying to hide their closeness.

Nevertheless I think that it's absolutely fair for you to not be ok with your boyfriend forming this NEW close relationship with this co-worker.

I'm a guy who has always had a lot of female friends. Especially my closest friends have almost always been girls/women. So I'm not one of those people who doesn't understand that a guy can be friends (really, actually, just friends) with someone of the opposite sex.

Nevertheless, this seems wrong to me. This rubs me the wrong way... even though it's just a brief description. I was sitting here trying to figure out why... this was setting-off my instincts exactly. I mean... every girlfriend I've ever had would have had to deal with something along these lines when dating me (albeit... less intense).

It's that this is a NEW relationship/friendship he's forming with this other woman. One which is STARTING AFTER the two of you were already together.

That is what seems wrong here. It's one thing, if you're weary of some girl who has been friends with your boyfriend SINCE BEFORE YOU KNEW HIM. But that's a legitimate friendship. To me, that's legitimate.

But I'm not going to go make myself a NEW super-close female friend... when I've got a girlfriend. That's... inappropriate.

Also, the intensity of this new friendship is over-the-top. This sounds like a boy with a crush. I'm not saying he has cheated. But to me, what he's doing is still really really wrong and inappropriate. I think you have every right and good reason to worry about this. Nip this shit in-the-bud.
